Abortion

The Bible clearly teaches us that abortion is wrong. This teaching comes across in many ways and for many reasons.  For one, abortion is murder no matter how you look at it.  Abortion is taking a life form and killing it and that is not okay.  If you aren't taking precautionary measures to avoid pregnancy you should be able to handle the consequences.  The author of this article feels very strongly about keeping abortion against the law, strictly from a biblical point of view.  One reason God frowns on abortion is scripture repeatedly condemns the killing of the innocent.  The article states, "God's own finger writes in stone, Thou shall not kill."  A direct quote from God in the old testament tells us that killing is wrong, so should we not kill?  The story also states, "Murderers cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven."  All of the author's reasoning against abortion comes from the Bible.  If killing is against God's law, why should we okay abortion?  That is against everything God teaches.
Another reason abortion is wrong is the Bible teaches that children are a blessing.  The article says, "God commanded our first parents to be fertile and multiply."   God wants us to have kids so for us to kill his blessing is a sin.  It's not fair for a child to die when it was given to someone by God.  The story also states, " the prophet Amos condemned Ammonites because they ripped open expectant mother's in Gilead."  So we know that there is a direct reference to abortion in the Bible and that it is wrong.
With all of that being said, God does forgive.  Abortion is a sin and God forgives sinners. No one can really say what God thinks because no one really knows.  Who are we to judge?  Also in my opinion, it is just as bad for a child to be born into a family that can't support it or doesn't want it.  If you can't take care of a child you should give it up for abortion, not abort it.
In conclusion, that Bible teaches us that abortion is wrong.  We know this from verses in the Bible and interpretations.   abortion is wrong simply because it is murder.  Killing a another human being is not morally right.  So the author is right in this case in my opinion.  However, it is hard to say what is right in God's opinion because nobody knows but God.

Women in Combat

Just a few weeks ago, a law was passed to allow women into combat. By doing this the rights of men and women in the armed forces are completely equal.  There's definitely some good coming out of this decision, but there's also, bad.  In hand to hand combat, do women stand much of a chance against men?
The first reason why women in combat is a bad idea is the difference in a man and a woman's body.  The story says, "the average American female soldier is five inches shorter..has half the upper body strength and 37 percent less muscle mass than her male counterpart."  A woman is built smaller and has less muscle than a man.  By putting women in combat, you're putting her whole unit in danger.  No matter how you look at it there is no competition between the physicality of a man and the physicality of a woman.  For me, the difference between a man and a woman's body is enough to know women in combat is a bad idea.
Besides the actual combat, there's a lot of things you have to do in the army that requires top notch physical strength.  If a fellow soldier goes down, you have to be able to carry them out of danger.  Also, you have to carry ammunition, some of it weighing near 100 pounds.  The story says, "it takes twice as many women to lift equipment."  That's twice as many targets for the enemy, twice as many mouths to feed, and twice as many American soldiers dead.  The physical demands of the military are simply to much for women in combat.
Now that I've said all of this against women, you probably think I'm ridiculous.  Let me clear things up. I realize that women can do this things that men can't such as, carry a baby around for 9 months and give birth.  This is one of the most painful things that a human being could endure. However, I just don't think that women are physically capable to do good in combat. And there is so much more a women could do in the military to benefit our country rather than fight in combat with men that are physically superior to them.
The military is one of the toughest roles in the world.  Everyday you literally fight for your country.  I think women are strong and can handle a lot, but when it comes to physical strength I'm afraid men have women beat.  Men and women should always have equal opportunities and I'm glad the military sees that.  However, only the women who can do exactly what men can do should be allowed.  If the women can do everything the men can do with but with many breaks then it's not fair. The safety of our country is a number one priority.

No Easy Day

In the corrupt world of politics, there's no telling what might get leaked or broadcast on the news. Some think once you publish a book, or put anything out for the world to see, all is fair. But, should exceptions be made under certain circumstances? When someones's life is in danger for their heroic actions, there has to be a line drawn. In the issue regarding the book 'No Easy Day' about killing Osama Bin Laden, the SEAL'S name who wrote the book was leaked on Fox News. Should Fox News have told? The author of this article certainly thought it was unnecessary to tell his name, especially knowing how hostile Bin Laden's follower can be.
It did occur to me that maybe the SEAL wanted it known for profit. However, this article states, "The proceeds from the book will go to help other SEALS in need." The business and media industry is one selfishness and most importantly; money, money, and more money. My parents always watch Fox News and say it is the only news show anyone can trust. Trust, Yes. Respect, I don't know. How can you betray the heroes of our country just for the edge over competitors? Business is business, nothing personal, but Fox News may have gone a little too far. Not only did they leak his name, but also his hometown. That puts more than one person's life in danger.
The author then goes as far as to turn it into a conservative/liberal issue. In his article he says, "It is not at all arguable that the reaction of the conservative media  to this story would be 180 degrees different if the news source had been anyone other than Fox News." He thinks conservatives have blinders on when it comes to politics. It's easy to point fingers at one person, but what about an entire group of people? The madness we refer to as politics sometimes causes us to turn against our people, neighbors, and even heroes. I think this isn't as much of a party issue, but a power issue. We all want power, but in the end is the power always worth the pain?
Now from a different point of view, just because a few people at Fox News did something, doesn't mean all conservatives are to blame. For all he knows, some might have boycotted the show because of that. Like I mentioned before, my family loves Fox News, but they will defend our nations' heroes to the ends of the Earth. We are not ignorant, and we are very open-minded. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, and people aren't always right. You cannot target a group because of a few opinions. Also, if you're going to write a book, especially if the book is about killing a notorious terrorist, you're probably going to get a lot of media. That's just a part of the fame job. Writers, actors, musicians, and other famous people deal with it all the time; and there's always going to be good press and bad press. How you handle it is your own problem, but you have to handle it somehow.
It is hard to imagine what some Navy SEALS have been through and what they've seen. By giving this man's name, Fox News has possibly put more stress and hard ships into his life. We cannot take our heroes for granted, and we have to honor them for their hard work. I'm going to agree with the author and say that what Fox News did was wrong. Even though they had an edge over competitors by figuring out his name, they should have still kept it a secret out of respect. This goes to show that we really have to think about what we say, because once you say something through words, media, or a computer you can never take it back. Always think about what is morally right.

I understand why some people would steal after hurricane Sandy hit NY because it shut off power to a lot of places and caused destruction throughout NY City because of this many stores and shops that the people relied on to survive shut down leaving the with no supplies, but some people are stealing just because they can right now and they are taking things the don't need and i believe this is wrong and they should be punished. According to the article "Looters target Coney Island, after Sandy sweeps through" on nydailynews.com a women reportedly said " people were running out of a nearby Rite Aid with bags of diapers and wipes". This is understandable because if you have a baby that is pooping all over the place and you run out out of diapers but all the store have closed down what other choice do you have. According to the same article another citizen claimed they saw "People were running in and out of Rent-A-Center carrying these big flat screens". This isn't right and i don't agree with this at all, stealing to survive is one thing but stealing just because its open for the taking is wrong. Another person on in this article said "they saw someone run off with a cash register". This is sad I don't see why anybody would do this, they are stealing just for the pleasure of doing so and in doing this they are causing more destruction and making it even harder for everyone else. So in some cases I think it might be understandable to steal when something like hurricane Sandy happens and you almost have no other choice, but in most cases I think it is wrong and it makes everything worse.

Don't Apoligize

Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr are being criticized for acting "inappropriately" at the Sunset Strip bar over the weekend.  According to TMZ, Jason a married country singer was photographed "canoodling"  with American idol contestant Brittany.
Although Jason Aldean apologized for his actions I have still lost respect for him.  Besides being a famous country singer he is a married man.  I understand that people make mistakes, but he has responsibilities as a husband and a role model to his fans.  According to the article, "Jason and Brittany apologized for acting "inappropriately".  Jason claims he had too much to drink and let the party get out of hand.  Though this may be the case, he should have enough self control as an adult and role model to know when to stop before he gets too drunk and acts inappropriately in public.
I still do have a little respect for him because he owned up to it right away and didn't try to make excuses or lie about his behavior.  Although there is really not much he could say given the fact that it was all on camera.
Getting drunk is one thing, but cheating on your wife is another.  In my opinion when it comes to cheating on your wife apologies mean nothing.  There's not anything Jason can say to excuse himself from that one.  I mean what kind of example is he setting for the people who look up to him?  If you are famous then pretty much everything you do is going to be caught by someone, so if you do something wrong then it makes it that much worse because the whole world will know about it.  You will be letting all your fans down and embarrassing yourself.
What Jason Aldean did was irresponsible and stupid.  He could have messed up his whole life just by having a little too much fun.  Although myself and probably many other Jason Aldean fans have lost some respect for him; I know I will probably continue to buy and listen to his music because he was honest about his mistake.

Gentle Giant

Michael Clarke Duncan, an American actor best known for his role in the movie "Green Mile", died September 3, 2012. In the eyes of the world Duncan was seen as a gentle man with a heart warming smile and a kind heart. Actors around the world who knew Michael grieve over his death. Saying he was "one of the best among men on earth" and "one of the nicest & most professional guys I've had the pleasure of knowing". Obviously he will be missed, but what can the world learn from him?
I feel as if people in this world are becoming more and more selfish as time goes on. People on earth should strive to be like Michael. He was such a giver he cared more about other people than himself. As Jordin Sparks said "he always had a smile on his face". For this reason he was loved by all his friends and fans. And I think most of the world could learn a thing or two from him to help make the earth a better place.
